Today IP cameras have compute ability which enables them to process analytics and to store video onboard via high density SD™ card, or local or cloud storage. Utilising edge storage enables smart bandwidth utilisation for video retrieval and footage redundancy. Deployed in conjunction with industry leading video management systems (VMS), edge storage can be used for video failover storage and later video retrieval when the VMS system restores or becomes available again.

These solutions are suited to enterprise video management systems, safe cities, smart poles and high availability mission critical environments or systems with intermittent network connectivity such as transport, airports, trains and buses where maintaining video footage integrity is imperative.
